Grunman Energy, the company in the field of renewable energy production controlled by the Pavăl brothers, owners of Dedeman, has received a capital infusion from the parent company. The shareholder of Grunman Energy, Pavăl Holding, operated a capital increase of RON 53 million (€10.6 million) to the capital of Grunman Energy, thus increasing the company's capital three times, according to data from the Official Gazette. Thus, after increasing the capital by RON 53 million(€10.6 million), through the exclusive contribution of Pavăl Holding, the share capital of Grunman Energy reached RON 79.6 million (€15.9 million).
Pavăl Holding, the group of the Pavăl brothers, the owners of the Dedeman chain of stores, founded Grunman Energy in 2022, a company whose purpose is to produce electricity through photovoltaic plants installed on the roofs of the Dedeman chain's buildings. When it appeared, there were already photovoltaic installations on the roofs of the seven Dedeman logistics centers in the country, following the partnership between Dedeman and the local company Simtel Team, which monetizes the photovoltaic plants at the logistics centers and Dedeman stores.
In mid-2022, Simtel estimates, for the first phase, an installed power in Dedeman's photovoltaic plants of 35 MWp, but in the medium and long term, the objective is to reach a total installed power of over 400 MW.
The collaboration between Simtel and Dedeman began in 2019, the first projects related to installing photovoltaic panels on the roofs of three Dedeman stores in Bucharest – Pallady, Pantelimon, and Colentina.
Simtel recently announced the completion of the largest photovoltaic installation on a roof in Romania, 4.1 MWp, located on the roof of Dedeman's logistics center in Turda.
"We thus mark our transition to being producers of green electricity. This initiative represents a significant step in consolidating Romania's energy independence while respecting nature and the resources it makes available to us", said Cătălin Moisă, Executive Director of Grunman Energy.
Pavăl Holding is the investment vehicle owned by Dragoș and Adrian Pavăl. This local entrepreneurial group owns the Dedeman company and multiple other high-profile investments in Romania in sectors such as real estate, private equity, agriculture, automobiles, energy, industry, and banking.
