OMV Petrom SA has signed a six-year contract with Expur to purchase fully refined vegetable oil, with the option to extend the agreement for an additional two years.

Deliveries are set to begin in 2028. This vegetable oil will be a raw material for producing renewable diesel (HVO - Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) at a new HVO/SAF plant in the Petrobras refinery. The company finalized the investment decision for this plant in June 2024. The pricing will follow an international index formula.

The contract covers over 0.7 million tonnes of vegetable oil, with an estimated value exceeding €750 million, based on the quantities ordered. At least 50% of the vegetable oil will be sourced from Romania, ensuring a sustainable supply chain from production to market.

Export, a Romanian company, is part of the Avril Group, one of Europe's largest producers of vegetable oil and biodiesel.
