Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE) has initiated commercial operations of its 1,366 MW gas-fired power plant in Western Pomerania. This state-of-the-art facility, equipped with GE Vernova technology, will provide flexible power generation and support the integration of renewable energy sources.

The plant's two 683 MW units are expected to supply electricity to over 3 million Polish households. GE Vernova will provide long-term maintenance and training services.

With this new addition, Poland's gas power capacity now stands at 4.7 GW, contributing 9% to the country's overall power mix. This shift towards gas-fired generation aligns with Poland's efforts to reduce its reliance on coal and transition to a cleaner energy future.
