Poland's Orlen sets ambitious sustainability targets

Orlen has committed to driving the energy transition and a greener future. The company plans to build 10,000 e-mobility charging points by 2030, helping achieve its sustainability objectives.

Orlen is also taking a leadership role in renewable energy, with plans to design and build Poland's first offshore wind farm.

Orlen has set ambitious sustainability targets, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2050. The company plans to reduce emissions in refining, petrochemicals, and upstream segments by 25% by 2030 (compared to 2019 levels) and cut carbon intensity in the energy segment by 40% by the same year.

Additionally, Orlen targets a 15% reduction in net carbon intensity for total energy sold by 2030. The company is also focused on circular economy initiatives, including the Blue Bridge project to reduce Vistula River water usage by 25%, constructing a waste incineration facility for hazardous medical and veterinary waste, and converting 40 hectares of industrial land in Warsaw into green space by 2025.

Furthermore, Orlen aims to reduce water usage at car washes by 30-60% and cut chemical usage by 20% by 2030.
