Ganz Transformer and Electrical Rotating Machinery Manufacturing Ltd. has completed the construction of a solar power plant and a hybrid energy storage system at its production site in Tápiószele, Hungary.
The facility includes a 2 MVA solar installation integrated with an innovative energy storage solution, executed by Budaörs-based Forest-Vill Ltd., the company announced through the Hungarian news agency MTI.
The development is part of Ganz's broader energy efficiency and sustainability strategy launched in 2023. The company expects the upgrades to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 40%. Installed next to a previously completed photovoltaic system composed of 4,040 panels, the new storage system has a capacity of 5.2 MWh.
The initiative supports Ganz's energy optimization program, which aims to significantly enhance energy efficiency at its transformer and rotating machinery plant. The solar system is projected to generate 2,830 MWh annually—covering a large portion of the site's total electricity consumption of 3,500–3,600 MWh per year.
