R.Power Group, the largest Polish developer of photovoltaic projects, is developing a project portfolio of over 1 GWp in Romania. Last year, the total capacity installed in photovoltaic projects in Romania reached almost 2 GWp. R.Power is developing a portfolio of solar projects of 1 GWp, with the aim of becoming the largest photovoltaic investor in this part of Europe. R.Power entered the photovoltaic market in Romania in 2021.

"R.Power has been present on the Romanian market for almost two years, as we see a great market potential thanks to the Contracts for Difference (CfD) scheme that will be introduced at the end of this year, as well as the growing area of bilateral contracts (PPA). In the last 12 months, our pipeline of projects in development has reached 1 GWp in more than 70 projects. We want to invest in diverse projects – both geographically and in terms of project size and type. These will include both medium and high voltage projects, with the main focus on green field projects", says Florin Federenciuc, country head at R.Power Romania.

In the last 6 months, R.Power has signed contracts for the development of 600 MWp of projects located in different areas of the country. The start of construction of the first projects is planned for 2024.

The company is constantly looking for more opportunities, with the aim of further increasing its portfolio to 1.5-2 GWp by the end of this year. In Romania, the main goal is to increase solar energy to 5 GWp by 2030.

The Poles from R.Power entered the photovoltaic market in Romania in 2021, by purchasing 100 MW projects. In the same year, the developer announced its entry into the German market.

R.Power SA is the leading independent solar power producer in Poland, with a growing presence in Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany, and Romania. The company is currently developing a portfolio of PV assets of over 8 GWp and has a portfolio of limited-risk projects (built, under construction, or ready for construction) of approximately 0.8 GWp.
