Sunflower Hundred, an Astrasun subsidiary, will invest in a first phase of over €100 million in Romania, in a solar panel factory with an annual capacity of 1 GW. The company from Hungary will build a factory of almost 15,000 square meters on the land of almost 5 hectares in Dâmbovița county, where solar panels with a maximum power of 600 and 410 W, respectively, will be manufactured. According to the investment plans, the factory will be partially built with European funds, and production could start by the end of 2025. One of the first solar panel factories in Romania, this will form the basis of a company that will produce for the European market and generates an annual income of approximately €300 million, ensuring about 150 jobs in the region.

After commissioning, Sunflower Hundred will make an important contribution to ensuring energy security in Romania and the European Union.

The first stage of the project is the construction of a factory of almost 15,000 square meters on a land of almost 5 hectares in Dâmbovița county, where solar panels with a maximum power of 600W and 410W will be manufactured, respectively, on land suitable for this investment.

The factory will produce solar panels on an automated production line, according to European standards. According to the plan, photovoltaic cells and sub-assemblies of the "ingot-wafer" type will also be produced later.

The solar panel factory will most likely start production in the final quarter of 2025. The revenue of the solar panel factory could reach €300 million annually.

The value of the first stage of the investment is 100 million euros, of which almost half, 43 million euros, will be accessed by Sunflower Hundred S.R.L. through the European funding program of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

"Thanks to the major activity and experience in the market totaling several decades, behind the Sunflower Hundred company is specialized knowledge, expertise, and an extensive commercial network. Our long-term goal is the continuous expansion of the production capacity in the following stages, thus contributing to the energy security of Romania, as well as of the European Union", said Dr. Attila Keresztes, the owner of Sunflower Hundred SRL, who is also the general director and CEO of Astrasun Nyrt., listed on the Budapest Stock Exchange.
