A 250 MW wind project in Călărași County received technical approval for connection (ATR) from Transelectrica, the national energy carrier. The commissioning date is December 31, 2025. The project is run by the Gura Ialomiței Solar company. The wind farm would be located in the town of Gurbăbești in Călărași county and would be connected to the Transelectrica network.

According to Termene.ro data, the company, founded two years ago, is 70% owned by a company from Portugal, RNVQ FCR, and the rest by a company from Romania, Offnet SRL, which appears as a shareholder in several companies in the field of renewable energy.

RNVQ FCR is a vehicle founded in 2021, which would be operational for ten years for the financing of renewable projects in Eastern Europe, which would be controlled by a Portuguese investment fund, Onon Partners, which is regulated by the Commission of Securities from Lisbon.

Romania is now crossing what is called the second wave of renewables. According to the latest data from Transelectrica officials, projects with a total capacity of 50,000 MW are now in approval procedures.
