DTEK Renewables, a company owned by Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Ahmetov, installed the largest wind turbine in Romania, in Ruginoasa. This month, the company completed the installation of the largest wind turbine ever installed in Romania, a 6 MW Vestas turbine. The turbine has a height of 125 meters and is part of a 60 MW wind project in Ruginoasa (Iasi).
The erection of this turbine is actually a double first in the context where for almost 10 years the market of wind projects has been completely frozen in Romania.
The huge wind turbines would have been intended for a project in Ukraine, but with the outbreak of the war, they arrived in Ruginoasa, as part of a 60 MW project.
The project, an investment of 90 million euros, will be ready at the end of this year.
"Our first Vestas V162 EN Ventus turbine from Ruginoasa and the first 6 MW in Romania was successfully assembled", wrote Daniel Rascu, business development manager within DTEK Renewables International, at the beginning of this month on the LinkedIn social network.
