Romanians will have €1.1 billion available for photovoltaic panels and the energy efficiency of homes. Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced that Romania will send the European Commission a new RePowerEu plan worth €1.4 billion, which will also include the purchase of photovoltaics. More than €600 million are for the purchase of solar panels and batteries for energy storage, and €500 million will go to fit-out homes in order to reduce energy consumption.

"€1.1 billion for Romanians for photovoltaic panels and the energy efficiency of homes! The new "REPowerEu" plan, worth a total of €1.4 billion, which we will send to the European Commission by the end of August, will be focused on programs dedicated directly to Romanians!", the prime minister wrote on his Facebook page.

The official explained that "there will be more than €600 million for purchases of solar panels and batteries for energy storage."

"Approximately 60,000 households will be able to access this program, and the value of each grant will be approximately €10,000 cumulatively. At the same time, another €500 million will be used to improve housing to reduce energy consumption and, implicitly, bills by up to 30%. And a significant share of this money will be allocated to the vulnerable population and those in rural areas. That means making a plan that takes into account the needs of the people and not personal or group interests as happened in the past when this plan was rejected by the Commission! And I trust that the Minister of European Funds will get what is needed in Brussels for the Romanians and Romania", said the Prime Minister.

The number of photovoltaic systems installed for individuals, at the national level, will reach 130,000, with the completion of this year's edition of the "Photovoltaic Green House" program, announced Andrei Antipa, vice-president of the Environmental Fund Administration (AFM), on June 22.

"We deal with the famous "Casa Verde" program. We are practically at the third edition, we hope that it will be the most successful in terms of organization. For this year's program, where we have allocated RON2 billion (€400 million), we have transferred the responsibility of the analysis to installers, so that we can install the programs as quickly as possible and not block them through difficult verification processes", says the AFM vice-president.

On June 22, the last development region ended.

"We tried to divide the program by development regions and that's why we have several registration sessions so that it is distributed as evenly as possible at the national level and we don't force the networks, which have been so loaded so far. With the completion of the program, we will be able to introduce, as we proposed, around 80,000 new photovoltaic systems at the national level, which together with the others from the previous sessions, will reach over 120,000 - 130,000 photovoltaic systems for people physical, at the national level", Antipa said then.
