Restart Energy has completed the implementation of a photovoltaic panel system, worth over €340,000, for Cotnari. The project consists of the installation of 883 panels, on an area of 5,000 sqm, with a power of 400 kWp. The investment is to be amortized in less than 4 years. The panels are located on the premises of the Cotnari Winery, Iasi County.
The green energy produced covers approximately 25% of the company's internal consumption.
In the next 25 years, the solar panels will produce 12,647 MWh, meaning a reduction in energy costs of over €2.5 million.
The photovoltaic panel system means a reduction of CO2 emissions of 159 tons per year and radioactive waste of 1.5 kg per year.
"Photovoltaic systems are the natural answer to the instability we see in the energy market. I am also glad that we are thus able to be sustainable and reduce the company's carbon footprint, in the context in which the planet needs responsible actions from everyone", said Remus Deleanu, president of the Directorate of Cotnari S.A.
"Photovoltaic systems are an effective solution for reducing energy costs, over a long period of time, with minimal maintenance costs. Restart Energy will focus on the sustainable production of active electricity through the use of solar energy", he stated, in turn, his, Armand Domuţa, general manager of Restart Energy.
In January 2021, Restart Energy signed a partnership with the American fund Interlink Capital Strategies from Washington DC to finance the development of 500 MW of renewable projects in Romania until 2025, in order to provide 100% green energy produced locally to all end customers.
In February 2021, Restart Energy launched the first issue of convertible green bonds in Romania that were listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, with the code REO26.
