More than half of Romanians (52.2%) intend to install photovoltaic systems in the next two years, according to an Atu Tech survey. This shows that 40% of those interested have in mind a budget between RON 15,000 and 20,000 (€3,000 and 4,000) for each project, it emerges from the data included in a specialized survey. A considerable proportion of respondents (24.11%) plan to install their photovoltaic systems in the next 3-5 years.
Also, while approximately 40% of Romanians interested in photovoltaic panels consider a budget between RON 15,000 and 20,000 (€3,000 and 4,000) to complete such a project, 42% opt for a hybrid photovoltaic system that allows them to be connected to the national electricity network, but also to self-sustain energetically when there are gaps in the network.
In addition, the reduction of energy costs and energy independence are the main arguments that support the intention of Romanians to install a photovoltaic system in their own residential space, but those questioned do not consider that such a project can contribute to increasing the value of the property.
According to the survey, government subsidies offered through the "Casa Verde" Program represent a decisive argument for only 16% of respondents, and the option for more economical solutions is also suggested by the openness of users in choosing an independent installer for a better financial offer.
At the same time, 61% of the respondents claim that they want a "turnkey" solution, which includes equipment and installation services, but only 35% would maintain their choice even if they had a more financially efficient offer from an independent installer.
The survey was conducted online, at the request of Atu Tech (a2t.ro), between August and September 2023, at the behest of Atu Tech, on a sample of 1,292 respondents, aged over 18, from urban and rural areas. The margin of error of the research is +/- 2%.
