ECITIM, a Romanian start-up in the field of energy, is in the process of obtaining an electricity producer license. The company's development strategy considers another 8 photovoltaic parks in 2024, which will allow it to expand its production capacity and offer while consolidating its position in the market. The company has developed 13 photovoltaic parks, following an investment of over €6 million, and by the end of the year, ECITIM estimates the completion of a new photovoltaic park.
"We submitted the necessary documentation to obtain the license for the commercial exploitation of the production capacities in September, after the first steps we took at the beginning of the year, in February, when we contacted a consulting firm. We expect to obtain the license by the end of the first quarter of 2024", says Stelian Muscalu, development director at ECITIM.
The investments required to license ECITIM as an energy producer exceeded €100,000 and concerned consulting costs, approvals, and fees requested by ANRE.
"To be an electricity producer, the license is mandatory starting from an installed power of more than 1MW, even if we are talking about an accumulation of the power installed in several prosumer parks, as is the case with us," says Stelian. Muscular.
All investments and partnerships were made through the EnergiePentruToti.ro platform, which facilitates collaboration between different entities for the construction of photovoltaic parks, allowing individuals and legal entities alike to hold shares in ECITIM projects.
Currently, the combined installed power of the photovoltaic parks developed within the EnergiePentruToti.ro platform exceeds 6 MW (22,400 installed panels) and places the ECITIM project at the top of the largest collective investments in the field of energy in Romania. The 13 photovoltaic parks were developed by ECITIM following an investment of over €6 million, in collaboration and with the input of over 600 partners and investors.
"The ECITIM company, through the EnergiePentruToti.ro platform, offers end-to-end management for solar energy investments, guaranteeing transparency and flexibility through clear contract details. It simplifies the purchase of energy packages and ensures easy payments and legal compliance. Users benefit from real-time production monitoring, extended warranties, and transparent collections with clear revenue calculations. Termination or sale options, along with aligned interests, where the company only prospers if the system produces energy, underlines ECITIM's commitment to maximize returns and minimize risks for partners," the company says.
By the end of the year, ECITIM estimates the completion of a new photovoltaic park, which will be proposed for sale to partners after connecting to the grid, fully functional and not in the project stage, as were all the other projects carried out previously.
"Our projects are developed and currently operate in compliance with the prosumer law. We decided to obtain the license for the commercial exploitation of the energy production capacities in order to prevent possible legislative paradigm changes. At the same time, when the growth accelerated, resettlement, on new bases, including legislative ones, of the entire business became a strategic objective to continue development at the same pace", says Stelian Muscalu, arguing ECITIM's strategic decision to become an electricity supplier.
