Photon Energy Engineering Romania, the Romanian subsidiary of the Dutch group Photon Energy, has completed and connected to the grid its 10th photovoltaic power plant on the Romanian market. The photovoltaic power plant has a generating capacity of 3.8 MWp.

The photovoltaic power plant is located in Bocșa (Caras-Severin county) and covers an area of 5.6 hectares of greenfield and is equipped with 6,160 combined solar panels. The power plant is owned and operated by special purpose companies, which are entirely owned by Photon Energy Group.

The company estimates that the total annual output of the new PV power plant will be around 5.9 GWh. The high-efficiency bifacial modules mounted on a single-axis tracker structure will supply clean energy to the grid operated by E-Distribution Banat. The electricity generated will be sold on the energy market on a free trade basis.

"The PV power plant in Bocșa expands our IPP portfolio to 39.1 MWp in Romania and increases our global capacity to 131.1 MWp," said Georg Hotar, CEO of Photon Energy Group.

The company expects the plant to generate revenues of around €490,000 in 2024 based on current prices for banded or PZU electricity in Romania.

The company's IPP (Independent Power Producer) portfolio now includes 98 solar power plants with a combined generating capacity of 131.1 MWp.
