Romanian national electricity carrier Transelectrica signed the tenth financing contract from the Modernization Fund, namely to implement the ‘Pilot project DigiTEL Green – Refurbishment of the 220/110/20kV Mostistea station' with a non – reimbursable value of €48 million.
The DigiTEL Green pilot project is a strategic investment by Transelectrica to modernize and enhance energy infrastructure in line with European energy policies. By deploying cutting-edge technological solutions and equipment, Transelectrica aims to reduce the ecological footprint and advance towards a sustainable energy infrastructure.
This investment, part of Transelectrica's Development Plan for 2022–2031, is crucial for mitigating environmental impacts and facilitating the transition to a sustainable energy framework.
The refurbishment of the Mostistea station will integrate advanced digital technologies to optimize operations and enable the station to generate its energy from renewable sources, thus promoting energy efficiency in line with the nZEB (nearly Zero Energy Buildings) concept. This modernization effort will significantly enhance the reliability and performance of the power transmission network.
Transelectrica recognizes the importance of European financing mechanisms in supporting energy investments and is poised to leverage these opportunities. With the signing of the Mostistea station refurbishment contract, Transelectrica now has ten projects funded by the Modernization Fund, totaling over €470 million.
The Mostistea station refurbishment project follows the successful refurbishment of the Alba Iulia station in a digital concept, which also received funding from the Modernization Fund. This underscores Transelectrica's commitment to clean economy objectives and signifies progress towards sustainability and innovation in the national energy sector.
