Romania's Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests launched a program dedicated to installing photovoltaic panels for churches.
Local public authorities within the national social assistance system, non-profit legal entities, and religious institutions have a budget of €50.3 million available for financing the acquisition, installation, and commissioning of photovoltaic panels.
The program is launching in Bacau County and the commune of Magiresti. The ministry aims to finance installations between 30 kilowatts and 200 kilowatts.
The funding for the new program is derived from the revenues obtained from the sale of greenhouse gas certificates. The funding amount is a maximum of €201 million for each beneficiary. The funding covers 100% of these expenses. The implementation period of a photovoltaic panel project is 18 months from the start of the program.
