The pharmaceutical manufacturer Antibiotice Iasi has inaugurated a 2.5 MW photovoltaic facility, a project funded by the Romanian Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), marking a significant milestone in their commitment to sustainable development.

Parapet, a construction firm specializing in renewable energy solutions, spearheaded the implementation of this initiative, providing comprehensive design, mechanical, electrical, and management services.

With a financial boost of €820,455 from the Ministry of Energy's European funds under the RRP, alongside company contributions, the total investment amounts to €23 million. This investment aligns with Antibiotice's long-term strategy for sustainability.

The photovoltaic plant, spanning over 31,428 square meters and equipped with 4,680 panels, is expected to generate an average of 3,500 MWh/year. This production capacity will cover 26.4% of the company's electricity demand, significantly reducing its carbon footprint by over 2,000 tons annually and aiding in climate change resilience efforts.

Looking ahead, Antibiotice plans to further enhance its green energy production by installing additional photovoltaic panels on company buildings, aiming to achieve approximately 35% energy autonomy for its industrial platform.
