PPC Renewables builds 140 MW Wind Farm in Romania

PPC Renewables, the renewable energy division of Greece's PPC, will build a new wind farm with an installed capacity of 140 MW at the Deleni site in Vaslui County.

The wind farm will feature 23 GE Vernova turbines, each with a capacity of 6.1 MW, and is scheduled to connect to the grid by the end of 2025. Due to the area's high wind potential, the plant is expected to generate about 370 GWh of electricity annually. Once operational, it will cut CO2 emissions by 215,000 tons each year. The completed project is anticipated to provide power to approximately 62,000 households.

Currently, PPC Renewables operates a renewable energy portfolio of over 700 MW in Romania. When this new project is finished, the PPC Group's total installed renewable capacity in the country will increase to around 850 MW.

The PPC Group is setting the stage to lead Romania's energy transition by aiming to raise its total installed capacity in the country to over 2 GW by the end of 2026. This ambitious investment plan aims to position the group dynamically within the renewable energy sector.
