Romania's Energy Minister Sebastian Burduja signed three financing contracts under the Modernization Fund for projects focused on developing renewable energy production capacities for self-consumption.
„I signed three financing contracts through the Modernization Fund, which will bring tangible changes. These projects are aimed at developing renewable energy production capacities for self-consumption”, the minister announced on his Facebook page.
The beneficiaries of these funds are the Politehnica University of Bucharest, the town of Dărmănești in Bacău County, and the Dumbrăvița Commune in Timiș County.
UPB has signed one of the largest contracts so far, with a total installed capacity of 7.04 MW. Dărmănești and Dumbrăvița have similar projects planned, with a total installed capacity of 0.39 MW and 0.399 MW, respectively, covering nearly 70% of their consumption (public lighting, utilities at the Town Hall, schools, dispensaries, etc.).
The installation of a total capacity of 7.829 MW will have a significant impact on these communities and institutions. These projects will reduce costs for the beneficiaries, improve the quality of life for local communities, and increase energy efficiency in institutions.
The ultimate beneficiaries of these projects are always the citizens. They will directly experience the positive effects of these investments, from lower electricity bills to a cleaner and healthier environment.
