E.ON Energie Romania installed over 3,500 photovoltaic systems for residential customers in the first eight months of this year, which is eight times more than the entire previous year.
While last year the company installed 400 photovoltaic systems, averaging one system per day, this year the average installation rate has increased to 14 photovoltaic systems per day, with a record of 50 systems installed in a single day in July.
To date, the more than 4,400 PV systems installed by the company for residential customers over the past four years have generated 21.21 GWh of renewable energy and saved approximately 11,000 tons of CO2 emissions, which would have required around 14,000 trees to absorb. About 10% of the installed systems also include storage batteries.
"Using solar energy to power our homes, to cool them on hot days, and to heat them in the cold season means doing things the right way, sustainably. Over 13,000 customers today benefit from solar energy thanks to our solutions, and the continuous reduction in costs for panels, batteries, heat pumps, electric vehicles, and other key technologies shows that a clean energy future is also an increasingly cost-accessible energy future," said Claudia Griech, General Manager of E.ON Energie Romania.
The company highlights that a 3 kW photovoltaic system produces, on average, 3,500 kWh per year, sufficient to cover an average monthly consumption of approximately 200 kWh. The investment recovery takes about 4 years, depending on the installed power, and the warranty period is substantial, with 15 years for the panels and 10 years for the inverter.
