Comcris Energy, a Romanian subsidiary of Enery, a leading Austrian renewable energy developer, has officially launched the Sărmăşag photovoltaic park.
This 51.4 MW solar farm, equipped with a 22 MWh battery storage system, is the largest renewable energy project in Romania to receive funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
Located in Sălaj County, the Sărmăşag park represents a significant milestone in Romania's transition to clean energy. The integration of battery storage enhances the park's efficiency and reliability, ensuring a stable supply of electricity even during periods of low solar irradiance.
Comcris Energy secured a contract worth €52.455 million to develop the project, with €13.68 million in non-reimbursable funding from the PNRR. The electricity generated by the park has already been pre-purchased by Ursus Breweries, the country's largest beer producer, through a corporate power purchase agreement (cPPA). UniCredit Bank provided financing for the project, with legal support from CMS Romania.
