Romania launches €150 million battery storage grant

Green Forum
The Romanian Ministry of Energy launched a grant program funded by the Modernization Fund. It offers €150 million to support building battery storage systems connected to existing renewable energy sources (wind, solar, hydro).

These batteries must utilize at least 75% of their energy from the linked renewable source. The state aid scheme offers €150 million in non-refundable grants from the Modernization Fund.

This competitive bidding process will fund new behind-the-meter battery storage systems connected to existing renewable energy facilities.
