Monsson has secured all necessary approvals to start building Europe's largest photovoltaic park, located in Arad County, Romania.
The 800-million-euro private investment will span more than 1,000 hectares in the communes of Pilu and Grăniceri. With a capacity of 1,044 MW, the project is the outcome of partnerships between investors and local authorities.
Petru Claudiu Bătrînuț, the mayor of Grăniceri, announced that the final documents were issued in December, in partnership with Pilu City Hall.
"From our perspective, all necessary steps have been completed, and the procedures are finished. According to the investors, construction work will start in the spring or summer. Recently, the investors made some adjustments to the project to reflect technological advancements. Fewer photovoltaic panels will be installed, but they will have higher power capacity, ensuring the originally planned electricity production capacity remains unchanged," the mayor explained.
The project will also include one of the largest professional training centers in the region. During construction, at least 1,000 workers will be employed daily. Once completed, up to 200 people will be hired for operation and maintenance.
