SolarPro to build largest solar farm in Romania

Green Forum
SolarPro Holding, Bulgarian engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor, will develop a 174 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) farm in Romania's Oltenia region.

Expected to begin operations by mid-2025, the facility will feature more than 285,000 LONGi PV modules, making it the largest solar installation in Romania, both currently operational and under construction, as reported by LONGi at the end of last month.

The project is owned by CWP Europe, a leading renewable energy developer in Southeast Europe, with Romania's Grup Blauer acting as the project developer and SolarPro responsible for construction.

Once operational, the solar farm will generate enough electricity to power 115,000 households and reduce annual greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 95,000 tonnes, supporting Romania's Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan.
