Renewables company Qair has secured two energy storage projects in Poland, with a combined power capacity of 200MW and energy storage of 800MWh.

Located in Kowala and Radkowice, these new projects will help ensure a stable and reliable electricity supply for around 50,000 households, according to Qair.

The long-term contracts, which can last up to 17 years, represent the maximum duration permitted under Poland's capacity market rules.

In addition to its Polish operations, Qair is developing energy storage projects in nine other countries, including Germany, France, Spain, the UK, Italy, Romania, Montenegro, Iceland, and Greece.

Qair's current storage portfolio totals nearly 8GW of power capacity, capable of delivering up to 20GWh of energy.
