METLEN Energy & Metals S.A. Greece has secured €181 million in project financing from Piraeus Bank for the development of a large-scale solar power plant in Romania.
With an estimated capacity of 273 MW, the project marks a significant step in METLEN's expansion within the renewable energy sector.
The financing, provided as part of Piraeus Bank's strategic commitment to supporting sustainable energy investments, underscores the strong growth potential of the renewables market.
Dentons advised Piraeus Bank as lead counsel on both English and Romanian law, overseeing the transaction from drafting to closing. The legal team was led by Banking and Finance partner Simon Dayes, with support from counsel Maria Tomescu, associates Alin Serea and Carmen Banica (Banking and Finance), and senior associate Luiza Onofrei (Real Estate).
