Simtel Team, a leading renewable energy company in Romania, in collaboration with the Romanian Association for Green Energy and Sustainable Development (AREVDD), has completed a new solar energy project for MagiCAMP, an initiative of Asociatia Magic.

The newly installed photovoltaic system will help lower MagiCAMP's operational costs while promoting sustainable energy use.

“This project reinforces our commitment to supporting social initiatives through renewable energy. By reducing MagiCAMP's reliance on conventional energy, we enable more financial resources to be directed toward vital activities for children and families in need. Investments in renewable energy offer both economic benefits and a positive community impact, and this initiative perfectly illustrates how sustainability and solidarity go hand in hand. We are honored to support an organization where children find comfort, hope, and joy,” said Ana Nedea, President of AREVDD.

The photovoltaic system has a capacity of 29.68 kWp, comprising 56 solar panels spread over 186 square meters. It is expected to generate around 46 MWh of electricity annually, reducing CO₂ emissions by approximately 14.4 tons per year.

MagiCAMP, the first project of Asociatia Magic, was launched nearly 11 years ago as a special summer camp for children with cancer, severe burns, or those who have lost a loved one to cancer. It provides a space where children can heal emotionally, build friendships, and regain confidence. This summer, MagiCAMP will expand to welcome even more children, with sustainability at its core. The camp buildings are insulated for greater energy efficiency, and an organic garden supplies fresh produce for meals. The solar panels donated by Simtel Group and AREVDD bring dual benefits: significant energy cost savings and environmental protection. Additionally, they serve as an educational tool, teaching children and volunteers about the advantages of renewable energy.

“We are deeply grateful to Simtel Group and AREVDD for choosing Magic. Their contribution allows us to reallocate funds for more activities with the children while fostering environmental awareness,” said Andreea Nechita, President of Asociatia Magic.

Founded in 2014, Asociatia Magic is a non-governmental, non-profit organization supporting over 10,000 families with seriously ill children. Through 12 programs, the association provides material, financial, emotional, logistical, and medical assistance, including camps for children with cancer (MagiCAMP), transportation for families with critically ill children (Șofer de Suflet), free accommodation for parents during hospital stays (MagicHOME), psychological counseling (MagiCARE), food and essential supplies for vulnerable families (MagicBOX), educational scholarships (MagicEDU), and family vacations (MagicTICKET). This support is made possible entirely through private funding and the dedication of volunteers, donors, and partner organizations.
