EDP Energia Polska, a subsidiary of Portuguese utility EDP, has signed an agreement with Cemex Polska to install and operate photovoltaic (PV) systems with a total capacity of 14 MWp across eight of Cemex's plants in Poland.

The 15-year contract follows a PV-as-a-Service model, covering full financing, operation, and maintenance of the solar installations throughout the agreement. The first supply of energy is expected in the second quarter of 2025.

Cemex's first solar farm in Poland was built in 2021 at its ready-mix concrete plant in Pruszków. The company also holds an eight-year agreement with Norway's Statkraft, which has been supplying 30% of Cemex Poland's energy needs from domestic wind and solar farms since early 2025.

In Poland, EDP has already installed nearly 270 MWp of PV capacity, contributing to the development of sustainable energy solutions, said EDP Country Manager Ireneusz Kulka.
