The Mayor of the Capital Nicusor Dan announced that the website infoaer.pmb.ro was launched. Here the citizens of Bucharest can consult the data recorded by the 44 sensors for air quality monitoring, as well as the data measured with the self-laboratory of the Bucharest City Hall. The purpose of these measurement campaigns is to better identify the sources of pollution so that Bucharest City Hall can establish the most effective measures to reduce air pollutant concentrations.
"We launched the website infoaer.pmb.ro. This is the first step of the communication and awareness campaign in the field of air quality, which the City Hall of the Capital is launching so that Bucharest residents have real-time access to information about air quality in the city. Also, here you can find the information on the strategies, programs, and projects we run to improve air quality", says the capital's mayor, Nicusor Dan.
On this platform, citizens can consult the data recorded by the 44 sensors for air quality monitoring, as well as the data measured with the PMB self-laboratory. Pollutants measured include particulate matter PM10, PM2.5 and PM1, nitrogen dioxide (NO2), ozone (O3), and hydrogen sulfide (H2S).
The sensors were received free of charge, within the Partnership for Healthy Cities, through the protocol concluded with Vital Strategies in 2022.
They were placed in partnership with the Center for Sustainable Policies Ecopolis in 44 locations across the city, at hospitals and educational facilities.
