Bihor County wants to start this year the separate collection of textile waste and to continue improving the sanitation system. The statement was made by the vice-president of the Bihor County Council, Mircea Mălan. He was re-elected as president of Ecolect Bihor, following the vote of the members present at the General Assembly of Associates. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Bihor County Council.
"In 2024, we intend to start the separate collection of textile waste and to continue improving the sanitation system so that Bihor residents can benefit from a good quality service at a reasonable price. I thank all the mayors and mayors, with whom we managed to make waste management in our county an example of good practice at the national level. Only together do we make Bihorul Curat", explained Mircea Mălan, president of Ecolect.
The members of the Board of Directors were also elected: Mircea Mălan (becomes an automatic member if he is the president of Ecolect) and Iulian Balaj, the mayor of Ștei, Zatyko Jacint, the mayor of Sâniob commune, Sferle Mihai, the mayor of Cociuba Mare commune and Avrămuț Daniel, the mayor of Tulca locality.
According to the Ecolect statute, the Board of Directors ensures the proper implementation of the decisions of the General Assembly, ensuring the effective management of the Association to provide local sanitation services and ensure the operation, exploitation, and administration of their related heritage.
The discussions concerned, among other things, the challenges generated by the implementation of the Return Guarantee System at the national level.
The Ecolect Group Intercommunity Development Association consists of all 101 towns and municipalities in Bihor, plus the Bihor County Council. In the fall of 2020, the Intercommunity Development Association (ADI) Ecolect Group, effectively began the implementation of the Integrated Waste Management System (SMID).
