Danone Romania collects 155,000 packages

Danone Romania, Penny, and Tetra Pak collected 155,000 packages during the third edition of "Bring it to recycle, win!", which took place in all Penny stores in Romania. Due to the materials from which they are made, Tetra Pak brand packaging can be recycled, following this process the fibers of the raw materials from which the packaging is made are recovered, which are then reintroduced into the economic circuit, to manufacture new products. 

The campaign will be extended until the end of February 2024.

"The campaign represents the continuation of a sustainability initiative, initiated in 2019, through which Danone Romania, Penny, and Tetra Pak aim to raise awareness of the need to behave responsibly towards the environment", announced Danone.

Throughout the year, consumers had the opportunity to bring in Tetra Pak-branded product packaging and drop it off at Penny store cash registers nationwide. In exchange for 5 Tetra Pak packaging, customers received a free Activia drinking product.

In 2021, Danone Romania invested €4 million in Tetra Pak equipment for the production of yogurts from the Danone, Activia, and Danonino drinking ranges. These packages are made 93% from plants.
