The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans to provide a sovereign loan of up to €100 million to enhance energy efficiency in up to 70 schools across Serbia.
This initiative aims to implement various energy efficiency measures and improve building sustainability, which will reduce energy consumption, lower CO2 emissions, and enhance the overall comfort level in schools. The project will be carried out by Serbia's public investments ministry alongside local self-governments, benefiting schools throughout the country.
The loan is set for approval on December 4, and it will also strengthen the capabilities of public entities in Serbia to develop and manage public infrastructure projects, with EBRD collaborating closely with the ministry and local authorities.
