Renewables developer OX2 has secured €73 million in financing from Germany's Nord/LB, a leading energy transition bank, for the development of a 100 MW solar farm in Poland.

Located in southwestern Poland, the Rutki solar array marks OX2's debut project in the country. Currently under construction, the facility is expected to be operational by 2025. Upon completion, its 145,000 ground-mounted solar panels will generate enough clean energy to power approximately 30,000 households annually.

The project is supported by a 15-year contract for difference (CfD) agreement with Poland's Energy Regulatory Office, ensuring stable revenue.

Poland, which added around 4.6 GW of solar capacity in 2023, now boasts a cumulative installed capacity exceeding 17 GW. The country is on track to meet its ambitious goal of 29 GW of solar capacity by 2030. Furthermore, Poland's Institute for Renewable Energy reported in November that building permits have been issued for nearly 1,500 solar projects, amounting to over 12.3 GW of potential capacity.
