Croatia to offer €652 million in green grants for 2025

Green Forum
Croatia's Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition has announced plans to allocate €651.8 million in grants next year. Of this amount, €526.8 million will come from the European Union's 2021-2027 competition and cohesion program, the EU's national recovery and resilience plan, and the EU Modernisation Fund, as outlined in the ministry's indicative plan for 2025 calls and tenders.

The remaining €125 million will be provided by Croatia's state-run Environment Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund.

The grants will support various projects, including the development of new waste management infrastructure, the generation of electricity from renewable sources, educational initiatives, and improving energy efficiency in homes affected by energy poverty.

The Modernisation Fund focuses on investments in renewable energy generation, energy efficiency, energy storage, the modernization of energy networks (including district heating systems), and facilitating a just transition for carbon-dependent regions.
