Aquila, a leader in integrated distribution and logistics services for the consumer goods market in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, has proposed to target a 10% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions until 2026, by renewing the fleet, optimizing transport routes, streamlining logistics operations, defensive driving courses for employees, as well as the use of alternative energy sources.

As of last year, 70% of the company's fleet was equipped with Euro 6 engines. The company wants to replace all non-Euro 6 vehicles in order to reach a car fleet consisting of 100% Euro 6 vehicles by the year 2026.

For the period 2022-2026, the company has chosen to focus its sustainability efforts on three

strategic directions: environment and climate change, human capital and communities, ethics and governance.

The company applies systems to improve the electricity consumption of warehouses, using renewable energy and LED electrical installations.

The company also uses warehouse management systems to reduce waste from storage services and implements projects for the use of recyclable packaging.

"Aquila's strategy is confirmed by historical financial results, in the first year of presence on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. We focused on the diversification of the product portfolio, the development of our own brands and the distribution channels with a higher growth rate. We have integrated the sustainability component into our activity, we continue investing in projects that will make us more efficient, strengthen our results and continuously reduce our footprint on the environment", says Cătălin Vasile, CEO of Aquila.

Aquila ends 2022 with growing business and a net profit of RON 85 million (€17 million), 20% over the previous year. The preliminary net profit is the highest since the establishment of the company.

The result obtained comes in the context of the company's revenue increase by 15%, up to RON 2.21 billion (€442 million). Preliminary financial results exceeded the 2022 budget.

Aquila operates in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, with an integrated business model, with activity in the following business segments: distribution, logistics and transport. Aquila sells FMCG products in over 67,000 outlets across all FMCG retail channels, covering over 90% of the market.
