Batteries for home and industrial storage of renewable energy are starting to be made in Ruse, Bulgaria by the new factory of Bulgarian company Solar MD, which is among the leaders in the production of lithium-ion batteries in Africa. It has completed over 7,000 projects in the last decade and claims that the investment in home, commercial, and industrial solar energy storage systems pays for itself extremely quickly.
“We are happy that the next phase of our international expansion includes a new production in Bulgaria, in my hometown of Ruse,” says Kaloyan Dimov, managing partner of “Solar MD”, in the announcement.
“The opening of a new battery plant is proof that Bulgaria can attract investments not only in RES plants but also in the production of decarbonization technologies. We expect that within three years the country will have over 6,000 MW of installed capacity from wind and solar plants. The availability of affordable and secure energy storage systems will play a key role in the balancing and management of our electricity system,” adds Nikola Gazdov, chairman of the board of the Association for Production, Storage, and Trade of Electricity (APSTE), whose co-founder is Solar MD”.
Leading companies from the field of renewable energy sources and electrical energy storage systems are also invited to the opening of the factory in Ruse, with which a partnership will be sought to help the RES revolution and a more sustainable energy future.
