Kaufland Romania has announced the opening of a new store in sector 4 of Bucharest, with ecological facilities, plastic packaging recycling machines, and a green roof. This is the 22nd store of the Kaufland chain in the capital and the 171st nationwide and it will generate more than 80 new jobs. The car park has a total capacity of over 280 places, of which 12 are for disabled people and 9 for parents. At the same time, customers have at their disposal charging stations for electric cars and bike racks.
The store is built on a total area of over 6,000 sqm, of which 3,850 sqm are intended for interior sales space. The new location has a 2,200 sqm green space on the roof, landscaped with sedum cuttings, grasses, perennials, and small and medium shrubs.
The area is provided with an irrigation system, ensuring optimal humidity for the plants.
To encourage ecological behavior among customers, the new Kaufland store in Bucharest also integrates selective collection systems. Thus, in the store's parking lot, customers will find a self-service double recycling machine, where they can recycle packaging in exchange for extra-discount vouchers. They can collect three types of packaging here: PETs (with a volume of up to 3 liters), glass, and aluminum cans (with a volume of up to 1 liter).
In the entrance area, in the special space arranged in the shape of a turtle, customers can deposit personal care or cleaning product packaging for recycling. They will be rewarded on the spot with vouchers for a 35% discount on the purchase of other new products from the offer monthly.
Customers can deposit empty plastic bottles of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body, face or hand cream, mouthwash, or liquid soap, but also empty containers of cleaning products, such as clothes or dish detergents, cleaning solutions for the kitchen, bathroom, floor or windows. Vouchers are collected from the Information Desk in the store.
