The Nokian Tyres factory in Oradea, the world's first zero-emission unit for the production of car tires, plans to build a photovoltaic park for its energy consumption and is inviting specialized firms to submit their bids by November 1, 2024.
The construction of the photovoltaic park involves the design, supply, execution of works, erection, and commissioning, within the project "Realization of photovoltaic park for self-consumption within NOKIAN Oradea", proposed for financing from the Modernization Fund - State aid scheme for supporting investments in new capacities for the production of electricity from renewable sources for self-consumption.
The term of execution of the contract is a maximum of 4,5 months from the signature of the contract.
The award criterion of the competitive procedure will be the best value for money, determined based on evaluation factors.
Nokian Tyres started construction works at the new plant in Oradea in May 2023 and were completed in September 2024. The annual production capacity will be 6 million tires, with prospects for future expansion. 500 employees will work here. The total investment in the greenfield plant is estimated at around €650 million, placing it among the most important projects developed in Romania in recent years.
