Tauron expands wind portfolio and sets 2035 goals

Green Forum
Tauron has inaugurated the Gamów wind farm in the Silesian province, its 14th onshore wind farm. Located in the Rudnik commune, the site includes 15 turbines with a total capacity of 33 MW.

This marks Tauron's third wind project in 2024, following the 59 MW Mierzyn farm in West Pomeranian Voivodeship and the 30 MW Warblewo farm in Pomerania. The company plans to complete the 55 MW Proszówek wind farm in Lower Silesia soon.

With the addition of Gamów, Tauron's renewable energy capacity now totals nearly 700 MW, comprising 12 wind farms (499 MW), 34 hydroelectric plants (133 MW), and three photovoltaic farms (56 MW). The Gamów farm alone is expected to generate over 80,000 MWh annually, powering around 28,000 households.
