Poland's National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) has opened a call for applications to co-finance electricity storage facilities, with funding from the Modernisation Fund.

The programme has a total budget of $1.02 billion and aims to improve grid stability and renewable energy use.

Eligible projects must involve storage systems of at least 2 MW / 4 MWh, including battery containers, inverters, transformers, and related installations. Optional costs include grid connections and system configuration.

The call is open to entrepreneurs (excluding financial entities) from 4 April to 30 May 2025. Funding is available as grants and/or loans: grants may cover up to 45% of costs (plus 10% for medium and 20% for small enterprises), while loans can finance up to 100%.
