Poland's energy regulator, URE, has announced that the country's 2025 renewable energy auctions will take place between 1 and 9 July 2025.

A total of 75.9 TWh of energy will be awarded through contracts worth €7.2 billion.

The auctions will begin on 1 and 2 July with sessions targeting installations powered by landfill biogas, sewage treatment plant biogas, and other types of biogas, along with dedicated biomass combustion plants, hybrid systems, thermal waste-to-energy facilities (including high-efficiency cogeneration), and multi-fuel combustion plants. These auctions are expected to allocate over 23.6 TWh.

On 3 July, auctions will open for electricity producers using agricultural biogas in high-efficiency cogeneration installations with a capacity above 1 MW, aiming to allocate an additional 5.8 TWh.

Sessions on 4 and 7 July will focus on hydropower, bioliquids, and geothermal energy installations, divided into capacity-based baskets for projects up to and above 1 MW.

The final auctions, held on 8 and 9 July, will be dedicated to solar PV and onshore wind projects, again split into two capacity brackets (≤1 MW and >1 MW), with over 43 TWh set to be awarded.
