The public transport operator of the Municipality of Constanța, CT Bus SA, wants to build a photovoltaic park that will be used to power electric buses. The company is looking for price offers for "specialized consulting services in project management in order to obtain non-refundable funds related to the Program - key 1: Renewable energy sources and energy storage financed by the Modernization Fund, for the project Photovoltaic power plant construction on the Busport type structure between 1,000 and 1,600 kwp, according to the specifications.
Proposals are expected until April 18, 2023, according to the market consultation notice published in the Electronic System of Public Procurement (SEAP).
Electric buses started running in the Black Sea city in October 2022. Infrastructure enthusiasts posted pictures of the first Byd electric bus that had previously arrived in Constanța.
At the end of October 2020, the Ministry of Public Works, Development and Administration (MLPDA) announced that it had completed the tender for 51 electric buses 12 meters in length intended for public transport in Alba Iulia, Buzău, Constanța, and Ploiesti.
The contract for the delivery of the 20 electric buses in Constanța was won by New Kopel Car Import, the importer of Chinese Byd buses. It includes, in addition to bus delivery, five fast charging stations and 20 slow charging stations. The bid declared the winner was 55.33 million lei without VAT.
