The Ilfov County Council has obtained new non-refundable funding through which it will build 15 charging stations for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, in eight Ilfov towns and municipalities. The request was submitted to the Environment Fund Administration (AFM), within the program on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in transport, by promoting the infrastructure for non-polluting road transport vehicles. AFM approved the eligible amount of RON2.85 million (€570,000), says Ștefan Radulescu, vice-president of the Ilfov County Council.

The 15 charging stations will be set up in the following localities: Bragadiru (three), Cornetu (one), Chiajna (one), Mogoșoaia (one), Snagov (two), Gruiu (one), Cernica (one), Tunari (one ), Buftea (one), Copăcenji (three).

According to the project, each station will have two charging points, one that allows charging in direct current at a power ≥ 50 kW and one, in alternating current at a power ≥ 22 kW.

"The Ilfov County Council aims to improve electric mobility within the county, by building an extensive network of charging stations. The number of electric and plug-in hybrid cars is constantly increasing, so we want to offer the people of Ilfov the infrastructure necessary to use them, with a positive impact on the environment in Ilfov County and on the health of the people of Ilfov", says Ștefan Radulescu, vice-president of the Ilfov County Council.
