The Timiș County Council has given the green light to purchase electric minibusses for schoolchildren. The vice-president of the CJ Timiș, Alexandru Proteasa, received the visit of the Minister of Education, Ligia Deca, on this occasion marking the implementation of the contract related to the "Electric minibusses for students from Timiș County" project. The county administration has accessed, in this sense, funding of over €6 million (without VAT), respectively RON 35.9 million (with VAT included), allocated through the National Recovery and Resilience Program, Component C15 - Education.
The funds that will return to the county will be used for the purchase of 27 minibusses, of which 24 with 16+1 seats and 3 minibusses with 8+1 seats. Later, the tender for the designation of the supplier of means of transport will also start.
The allocation of the localities that will be able to receive the new means of transport was made following the fulfillment of the conditions set out in the Call Guide.
The administrative-territorial units (UAT) that will benefit from these minibusses will have to comply with some conditions, including the ability to connect to the electricity network if there is not already a functional charging station in the respective locality and to provide a driver with certified. They will also have to cover repair costs as well as supply costs.
The project aims to ensure the mobility of schoolchildren to educational institutions, especially those from disadvantaged areas in terms of transport, and represents the contribution of the Timișoara administration to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions until 2030, according to the requirements of the European Union laid down by the Green Pact European, by creating green transport networks in the county,
The approach will be completed by CJ Timiș by participating in the other program financed by the Ministry of the Environment and intended for the purchase of "Electric minibusses for students", which has a budget of RON 300 million (€60 million), through the Environment Fund Administration.
Through it, you can buy electric, hybrid, or CNG-powered minibusses, as well as the purchase of recharging stations.
