The European Commission launched a call for proposals under the Connecting Europe Facility - Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF), according to a press release. €1 billion is available for the installation of alternative fuel supply infrastructure for road, sea, air, and inland waterway transport along the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
- Road network: support for high-power electricity and hydrogen refuelling stations as well as megawatt refuelling stations for heavy vehicles.
Airports: support for electricity and hydrogen refuelling
Ports: support for electricity and hydrogen supply and for ammonia and methanol bunkering facilities.
This second phase of MICA (2024-2025) will support electricity and hydrogen refuelling points on the main corridors and in the main transport hubs of the European Union.
Applicants can submit projects before any of the three deadlines: 24 September 2024, 11 June 2025, and 17 December 2025.
