The Galați County Council has approved a thermal rehabilitation and energy modernization project for the facilities related to the Galați County Hospital. The hospital will thus benefit from a "green" investment through which the central thermal building will be consolidated, and the heating network will be completely replaced. 200 solar panels will be installed that will serve the hospital's heating system, says the president of the Galați County Council, Costel Fotea.

Energy efficiency works will also be carried out on the thermal power plant building.

Hot water and domestic hot water production devices will be installed in a hybrid system (air-water heat pumps, heat boilers) integrated into the system, pumps for the circulation of the high-energy-efficient heating agent.

The project, worth almost RON 29 million (€5.8 million), will be submitted for financing within the Southeast Regional Program 2021-2027.

Also, the headquarters where the Tecuci Ambulance operates will be energetically renovated. The Galati County Council approved in the meeting an investment for the health system in the city of Tecuci. The building, where the Tecuci Ambulance operates, which is approximately 70 years old, will undergo an extensive energy efficiency process, as part of an investment of RON 2.9 million (€580,000).

Thus, repair, restoration, and reconfiguration work necessary to increase energy performance will take place. Alternative energy production systems from renewable sources will be installed: solar panels/heat pumps.

The electrical and lighting systems will also be rehabilitated and modernized. Necessary measures will be taken to ensure fire protection and necessary measures to ensure the strength and stability of the construction, says Fotea.

It's a one-story building with a built-up area of over 360 sqm that hasn't been touched on in decades, he says.

The project will be submitted for financing within the Southeast Regional Program 2021-2027.
