Romania has, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), projects to develop the national infrastructure of alternative fuels for road vehicles and in particular the installation of at least 30,000 recharging points, until mid-2026.
The Commission has selected 107 transport infrastructure projects to receive over €6 billion in EU grants from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), the EU's instrument for strategic investment in transport infrastructure. Over 80% of the funding will support projects that deliver a more efficient, greener, and smarter network of railways, inland waterways, and maritime routes along the trans-European transport (TEN-T) network.
ABB E-mobility co-develops optimal e-truck charging solution as part of the EU project. The NextETRUCK project is developing new e-concepts for trucks with medium freight haulage by the end of 2025 as part of the EU research program 'Horizon Europe'. The project aims to make those designated truck fleets emission-free, cost-efficient, and seamless to manage.
