Germany promotes sustainable tourism in Bucharest. On Friday and Saturday, June 16 and 17, between 10:00 and 20:00, the German Tourist Office organizes the German Days festival, an event that will promote sustainable travel to the main European tourist destination for Romanians.
The Carmistin Group invested €8 million in a poultry farm in the town of Potcoava in Olt County. It is the first farm of the Group to benefit from a power plant that uses biomass to heat the halls. Also, for electricity consumption, the project was provided with photovoltaic panels mounted on the roofs of the halls.
The municipality of Caianu in Cluj County will cover its own electricity consumption from renewable sources. Purcari Wineries Public Company Limited continues its efforts in sustainability by extending its photovoltaic system located at Purcari Winery and installing a new System on the premises of Bostavan Winery. The market of electric and plug-in hybrid cars in Romania has accelerated growth thanks to the incentives granted through the Rabla Plus Program and the cost of use of these eco vehicles. More and more Romanians who stay at home prefer to buy electric cars due to the cost per km traveled, and the convenience offered by the fact that they charge their car at home. The sales of electric scooters increased in the last year by approximately 10% in Romania. At the same time, the average selling price per unit decreased by at least 10%, due to the cheapening of raw materials. Annually, Romanians buy about 50,000 new electric scooters, according to the evoMAG online store.

Between August 2022 and January 2023, Romania is managing to reduce fossil gas consumption by approximately 25%, according to a report published by CEE Bankwatch Network. According to the report, Romania allocates four times more European funds for fossil gas, despite the climate objectives. Mayor Dominic Fritz is announcing that the Municipality has paid its environmental payment obligations for the 2016-2020 period. The City Hall of Timisoara paid last week the last installment of the obligations of RON5.6 million (€1.12 million) calculated by the Environmental Fund Administration (AFM), for the mentioned interval.
The GalicSud SRL company is building a photovoltaic park in Mehedinți County, Izvoru Bârzii commune, Halânga village, which will have over 27,000 photovoltaic panels and will cover an area of almost 200,000 sqm. The investment received a financing of €8 million from Libra Internet Bank.

Eurowind Energy is investing €50 million in the construction of a new solar PV park in Teiuș, Alba County. The PV Park will generate approximately 102.05 GWh annually after becoming operational in 2024, with the capacity to power 30,050 households each year.
