New photovoltaic plants of 95 MW approved in Romania

The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) approved the establishment of new energy capacities with a total installed power of over 95 MW. The decision was taken at the ANRE Regulatory Committee meeting on February 8, 2023, where the granting of new establishment authorizations was approved, in order to increase the production capacity of the National Energy System.

The establishment authorizations granted add up to a maximum electric power of 48.38 MW.

Since the beginning of 2023, ANRE has granted a number of 15 establishment authorizations (including those granted on 08.02.2023), totaling a maximum electric power debited of 95,577 MW, as well as two licenses for the commercial exploitation of the production capacities of electricity (including the one granted on 08.02.2023), totaling an installed electric power of 28,335 MW.

Therefore, the company ALFA GREEN ENERGY SRL received authorization for the construction of a new photovoltaic power plant with a maximum electric power of 9.9 MW located in the town of Iancu Jianu, Olt County, with a validity period of 19 months.

The FOTOVOLTAIC PROD & DISTRIBUTION SRL company received authorization to build the Filiași Photovoltaic Power Plant with a maximum electricity output of 7,524 MW located in Filiasi Township, Dolj County, with a validity period of 16 months.

Also, the company VIABLE ENERGY SRL received authorization for the construction of the new photovoltaic power plant with a maximum electricity consumption of 9.9 MW located in the commune of Iancu Jianu, Olt County, with a validity period of 17 months.

Another company that received authorization is POWER REGENERABIL ENERGY SRL, for the realization of the new energy capacity of the Filiasi Photovoltaic Power Plant (CEF) with a maximum electric power of 9.48 MW located in Filiasi, Dolj County, with a validity period of 21 months.

The GREEN SOLAR POWER SRL company received authorization from ANRE for the realization of the new energy capacity of the Photovoltaic Power Plant with a maximum electricity consumption of 5.9 MW located in Bobicești commune, Mirila Village, Olt County, with a validity period of 15 months.

The CTPARK ETA SRL company received authorization to build the CTPark ETA 1 photovoltaic power plant with a maximum electricity consumption of 4,588 MW, with a validity period of 12 months, as well as for the new CTPark ETA 2 photovoltaic power plant, with a maximum electricity consumption of 1,088 MW, with a validity period of 12 months.

ANRE also granted NOVA POWER & GAS SOLAR PRODUCTION SRL the license for the commercial exploitation of the electrical energy production capacities of CEF 3 Nervia Photovoltaic Power Plant Stage I with an installed electrical power of 25.01 MW.

"I recommend those interested in investing in renewable energy sources to take into account, as far as possible, that for at least 20% of the production capacity there is also storage. Investments in hybrid parks (solar, wind, storage) are also a sustainable solution. As I stated before, I believe that one of the solutions for overcoming the energy crisis is investments in new production capacities with low carbon emissions, in flexible electrical networks and in increasing energy efficiency", says Dumitru Chiriţă, ANRE President.

7 out of 10 Romanians who install photovoltaic systems are from urban areas. Also, RON35,000 (€7,000) is the average value of the projects implemented and in the process of implementation, shows a study by the company Ensys, a supplier of turnkey photovoltaic systems in Romania. It shows that the amortization period of a photovoltaic system is 2-7 years. The study shows that 7 out of 10 Romanians who install photovoltaic systems are from the urban environment, and 8 out of 10 customers who install photovoltaic systems are men.
