Environmentally friendly kindergarten to be built in Brașov

Alina Oprea
The first environment-friendly kindergarten will be built in the Noua district by two companies from Brașov. It will be the most modern and green kindergarten built by the municipality: heating will be provided with heat pumps, hot water will be produced with solar panels, and electricity with photovoltaic panels. In addition, the kindergarten will be equipped with heat recovery units. At the same time, the 200 children will also have at their disposal an artificial saline for therapy.

According to the specifications, the maximum term for the design stage is 4 months, and the execution of the works is 12 months.

The value of the design and construction works of this kindergarten is RON 19.53 million (€3.9 million) without VAT.

Brașov City Hall announced the winner of the tender for the design and execution of construction works for the first "green" kindergarten in Brașov: the association between SC Har&H, as leader, and SC Romfit Grup SRL, as an associate.

"The kindergarten will offer the most modern conditions to children in the neighborhood, including, in a first for Brașov for a public kindergarten, a salinotherapy room. It will be built in the Noua district, and it will be able to receive 200 children, in a kindergarten regime with an extended program, in a 3-level building", states the City Hall of Brasov.

One of the assets of the future educational unit is the use of ecological solutions through which the kindergarten will produce its own thermal energy, hot water, and electricity, the new building will be equipped with heat pumps, photovoltaic and solar panels, and heat recovery units.

"Brașov has the most ambitious program dedicated to preschool education in the last 30 years so that the little ones go to nursery and kindergarten in the neighborhoods where they live. Thus, in the coming years, we will have 8 new kindergartens and 5 nurseries, built in all neighborhoods where there is such a demand. The Kindergarten in Noua is a model for what we propose to be the level of infrastructure that we provide to the little residents of Brasov. We will have the best conditions for children, including an artificial salt pan. The kindergarten will be heated by means of heat pumps, hot water will be produced by solar panels, and electricity by photovoltaic panels. At the same time, the kindergarten will also be equipped with heat recuperators, which will allow a permanent freshening of the air, without heat loss. We are building the future of our children through the best educational infrastructure, using environmentally friendly solutions", said Mayor Allen Coliban.

The investment consists of the construction of a building body with a semi-basement height regime, a ground floor, and one floor, which will be divided into administrative and technical operational areas and spaces intended for children, including an outdoor playground.

Following the completion of the newly proposed construction, there will be spaces for 10 group rooms, both on the ground floor and on the first floor, arranged with one sanitary group for each group. In the basement, there will be artificial salt water and technical spaces for washing/drying/ironing. On the ground floor, 4 classrooms with bathrooms, a multipurpose room, a doctor's office, and administrative rooms are proposed. Upstairs are proposed 6 classrooms with bathrooms, a counseling and speech therapy office, a director's office, hallways, outdoor terrace.

To ensure the energy needed for the operation of this kindergarten, the building will have air-water heat pumps and a wall-mounted boiler, for the preparation of the heating agent; solar panels will be used in the process of preparing the domestic hot water needed for the kindergarten; photovoltaic panels that will provide the necessary energy for electric consumers and, separately, for the operation of heat pumps; heat recuperators in order to eliminate stale air from the room with a permanent intake of fresh air from the outside.
